Sea Perch ROV
Students team up to build Sea Perch
The Sea Perch is a simple, remotely operated underwater vehicle, or ROV, made from PVC pipe and other inexpensive, easily available materials.
The Sea Perch Program was created by the MIT Sea Grant College Program in 2003. Our program consists of classroom and project materials that support the Sea Perch ROV build, teacher trainings for educators across the United States and around the world, and a local, school-year-long collaborative ocean engineering challenge known as the Sea Perch Institute.
MIT Sea Grant's Sea Perch ROV projects and programs give students a chance to build skills and learn about careers in robotics, engineering, marine sciences and more.
